From my first meeting with Keira & Joey I felt like I would love to work with them on their wedding day. With a passion for travel, their adorable cat rolling around in my albums bag and the earthy, boho vision for the big day …they are just people I instantly liked. Keira and Joey inclued a pre-wedding shoot in their wedding package which we shot on mild May evening at one of my favourite Staffordshire locations. We got lovely photos by the river, on the woodland trail and in the buttercup fields. I love engagement shoots as it gives me chance to get to know the couple and work with them before the day.
I met Keira, Mom, Sister and bridesmaids at the stunning Hademore Stables for the bridal preparations. Hademore stables is a luxurious rustic setting with beams and exposed brick – totally in keeping with the earthy, lux, boho style that was carried right through the day. Keira’s shoes were just stunning with tumbling silk ribbons and ‘something blue’ detail on the bottom. The Enzoani dress that Keira chose was simple elegant silhouette with a lot of intricate detail in the train. Keira’s vision for her beautiful veil was handmade and brought to life by Lisa at Radiance Couture. Joey wore a traditional tux with added cummerbund which was inspired by the Beckham-Peltz wedding. The earthy tones and neutral tones of the bridalwear and bridesmaids garments photographed so well in against the textures of the stable building.
The wedding ceremony took place at the intimate ceremony room at Coton Farm House. Keira’s mom walked her down the isle as Taylor Swift’s ‘Wildest Dreams’ was played by pianist and singer.
Most of the décor and styling was done by the couple with huge help from Mother of the Bride. Wedding invitations, food menus, candle wraps, soap wraps and favours were all handmade and/ or DIY. All pallets, and all signs including the welcome sign were handmade at home during evenings and weekend between the bride and her mom.
Mother of the bride (Liz) made the three tier wedding cake with carrot cake, chocolate and traditional fruit cake. The cake topper was a characture of Keira, Joey and their cat. The Brides step father made a personalised swing which was engraved engraved with the couple name on the seat. This went down a storm with the wedding guests for photo oprutunities! The swing is now a special keepsake they plan to keep and have in garden.
Lily at Flower Design Lichfield designed the flowers and the scheme has inspired me to plant similar in my garden next summer. Delicate textures and neutral tones matched the earthy, elegant, boho feel to the day perfectly.
Unfortunately due to covid restrictions in China Joey’s family couldn’t attend. Keira’s Mom put together a suprise reel of video messages from Joey’s friends and family – not a dry eye in the house (me included).
The first dance was a practiced routine to Madonna’s ‘Like a Prayer’ this was fun and got everyone up onto the dance floor!
