Lindsay & Alistair’s Wedding at Hawkesyard Estate

It’s always a pleasure to work at Hawkesyard Estate in Rugeley, Staffordshire.  The team there are absolutely fantastic and the venue is stunning so I’m happy to be a regular there as a preferred supplier.  When Alistair and Lindsay talked about the vision for their day and their photos I knew that we were a perfect match.  The couples focus was on providing lots of fun entertainment for their guests and having a relaxed chilled out day. They were keen to have lots of natural, candid photos of their guests enjoying the day.

A magician performed close-up magic and amazed all the guests as they arrived on the lawns before the ceremony.  Lindsay, Mom and Daughter got ready in the lovely bridal preparations room at Hawkesyard.  This room is a dream for wedding photographers as it full of natural light and full length mirrors – the perfect place to get the iconic shot of the dress hanging up and lots of lovely portraits before there ceremony.  Lindsay’s dress was beautiful with delicate lace detail throughout and the Lindsay’s daughter wore a navy blue bridesmaid jumpsuit.  The wedding ceremony took place in the Lister Suite and Lindsay’s son walked her down the aisle.  After the ceremony everyone came out into the gardens for confetti and of course a few group photos.

Hawkesyard has so many great locations for couple photos but the grand staircase cannot be missed for epic bride and groom portraits.

It was a lovely sunny day and guests played lawn games and had their caricatures drawn by the talented caricaturist. The groom’s speeches where held on the lawns and then delicious afternoon tea was served in the Lister suite.

As the golden hour approached we were able to grab a few more bride and groom portraits in the gardens whilst the guests made their way to the Armitage Suite for the reception.

The evening reception was filled with live music.  The live music started off with recorders played by Lindsay’s son and daughter…and I don’t mean the screechy recorder sound that we all remember from school assembly…these sounded amazing!  The music continued with a live jazz band where Lindsay’s very talented children also played saxophone and guitar.
