Sarah & Ben’s Wedding Day at The Three Horse Shoes Inn, Staffordshire.
I first met Sarah & Ben in a lovely coffee shop in Stafford when they were still unsure of a venue for their big day. They settled on the Three Horse Shoes Country Inn & Spa near Leek in Staffordshire. Being keen climbers they loved this location as it is overlooked by the Roaches.
The guests arrived whilst live string music was played by musicians in the ceremony room. Sarah’s Mum walked her down the aisle and the ceremony was held by her Father. The wedding ceremony was so lovely as all the words and sentiments were chosen especially for his daughter and her groom. Ben’s mother also did a special reading.
The couple got married on an autumn day in October with portraits set against moody skies and the stunning scenery of the Peak District. Sarah’s sister’s, Ben’s sister and Sarah’s best friend had the honour of being bridesmaids wearing the loveliest sage green silk dresses. The couple mentioned that they chose me to be their photographer as they liked the natural style of my photos – I always try to keep the groups shots relaxed and take LOTS of candid’s… everyone knows that these are often the best as you can’t beat a natural belly laugh or full on full face smile!
The speeches were lots of fun and given by the bride’s father, the grooms best man and also Sarah’s best friend.
With the darker days and darker evenings comes the chance for dramatic back lit photos! If you’re planning an autumn or winter wedding my one piece of advice would be to book a photographer who really knows how to use light to create stunning portraits and make the most of this time of year.
If you’re planning a wedding in the Peak District Please feel free to drop me an email and chat about your day. I don’t charge for travel or accommodation to the Three Horse Shoes and I’m totally up for a hike up into the hills for portraits using all the magnificent scenery of the Roaches.
